Best Practices for Bali Body on Instagram

Welcome to Bali Body, a brand focused on beautiful skin and unmatched glow. The brand has a good follower count on multiple platforms; however, I will be focusing on their Instagram approach and best practices for this paper. Please use the following guidelines to maintain the brand image intact throughout posts.

Instagram has been a popular platform since 2010. With time, the platform has become more interactive, now featuring stories and reels aside from just in-person posts. The app uses hashtags and alt text to boost posts along with the use of location tagging and user mentions.

As with any platform, best practices change constantly as updates occur and features improve. Different ways to engage users are always coming into play; therefore, marketers and businesses should be aware of what methods are best for promoting their posts and account as a whole.

To discuss current trends, the first important step for any user in this realm is to establish their business account. This will allow the company to view its engagement on organic posts, allowing the company to understand what performs best and what day and time of the week will result in the best engagement. Also, enabling this feature will give the account access to call-to-action buttons and verification badges to prove account authenticity.

Continuing the business strategy discussion but incorporating ads and their importance, an article posted on Social Media Today states that, “According to a recent report, 75% of Instagram users take action, such as visiting a website or making a purchase, after looking at Instagram ads. If you haven’t already gotten started with ads, it’s definitely worth considering adding them to your Instagram marketing strategy this year” (Smith, 2018). Obtaining engagement in an organic manner is possible; however, it is a lot harder to ensure it is optimal without any paid strategy as Instagram will boost content that generates money for them. It is essential to understand the difference between these strategies and find the best ways to use your budget. Ads form part of one of the most important steps of awareness and sales outside of organic marketing forms.

As for Bali Body’s content, we want to ensure it’s on brand and very visually appealing. Using summer photographs, bikini pictures, close-ups of skin and nails, etc. Captions should always be short and to the point, linked to the product displayed in the photo, and when possible allow room for engagement and user responses in the comments. Tropical and beachy emojis are a plus. Hashtags will be used when there is a challenge that users can part-take in. An example for this would be #BaliBodySummer where women can show how they use their products throughout the sunny days. Always aim to represent the brand in the best light and remind customers why they love it.
